“Last I heard, he found God,” she said. “He was marrying a Jehovah’s Witness lady, somebody he met who visited in Leavenworth.” – http://www.americanchronicle.com/article…
For those who have not heard (I can’t imagine how that could be), Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped 18-years ago and held by this man and his wife in their backyard compound of tents and a porta potty. According to the news, most of the time the child was required to live in a box. She bore two of her kidnapper’s children at the home, the first one at the age of 14.
just idle curiosity. Anyone know for sure?
Dear PediC,
I had to go check the article that I got by email this morning. I first thought that I’d read a different article but I was thinking of the article I’ve been reading about Michael Jackson this week.
I do not know if the second wife (Nancy Garrido) was a JW at the time of Jaycee’s kidnapping. I only know that the quote you provided is from Catherine Murphy, Garrido’s first wife.
Just the thought of a 14 year old child giving birth to a child without medical support and her mother to offer comfort just breaks my heart.
Edit:
This 9/2 article from The San Francisco Chronicle makes it sound more likely:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg…
For His glory,
JOYfilled – Romans 8:28
Was in the car with him during the kidnapping and “‘was a jeh-hovah’s Witness’” and daughter of another inmate. Met him while he was in Levenworth serving time for the rape and torture of another woman.
According to the link she actually commited the kidnapping:
I dont have any information , just what I have read and the Link I posted previously to a question.http://www.americanchronicle.com/article…
Since then, I don’t have any specific reference or proof and I don’t want to speculate or gossip about if Nancy Garrido was a JW or wasn’t
Personal Opinion.. Nancy Garrido did not know God. Thus I would call her and Unbeliever in all
News organization reports so far have just mentioned it in passing. A lot of people join the witnesses for a year or so and then just disappear. Who knows whether she had spent years or months with them… Probably not something really important to track down. Clearly, they are both nuts. Some JWs are truly nuts. Some are just mind control victims. I’ll bet 30 per cent of them are “normal.”
It would be interesting to know this. I highly doubt any KH will step up and admit if he attended any meetings or was part of their cong.
Lots of JW media attention lately…negative attention.
Olin asked a similar question.
She was from what I just readhttp://thehive.modbee.com/aggregator/sou…
nothing about them surprises me anymore
i don’t know if she was but if she was she certainly isn’t now she will be disfellowshiped. this is a heartbreaking story how Jaycee and her children suffered in her back yard as well as all the other wicked things Jaycee went through i hope Jaycee and her children find happiness and except the truth when it comes knocking on the door by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, i will be glad when Jehovah destroys all the wicked.
if anyone finds out if Nancy Garrido was a Jehovah’s Witness please let me know this is a shocking upsetting story.
Much Love to you x
I worked with Nancy and Phillip Garrido at a convalescent hospital in Antioch between the years of 1989 and sometime into the ’90s (can’t remember exactly when they quit/were terminated. Phillip worked in maintenance and Nancy worked in the office with me for a while, then was out on the floor as a CNA (she was a licensed CNA before trying her hand at administration, but decided it wasn’t for her after a few months). If either of them found God, it was unbeknown to any of those who worked with them. The only time I ever heard the word “God” come out of Nancy’s mouth, it was more like, “Oh, Gawd”.
I dislike the Jo Ho’s as much or more than anyone.
However, as much fun as it would be to learn that the woman was a JW and that the Watchtower Society put her and her husband up to the kidnapping, the source of the info, the guys first wife, would likely be less than reliable.
The Witnesses, like most any other organization, cannot monitor and be held responsible for the actions of members…..usually. It doesn’t prove anything.
The JW’s hang themselves on their own inconsistencies, false prophesies amd flip flops in their literature.
I’ll be interested to see the Jo Ho responses.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are the only group who live by the bible. She was obviously not a Jehovah’s Witnesses. In John 15:14 Jesus said to his followers: “You are my friends if you do what I am commanding you.” Jesus commanded us to love our neighbors, to treat others the way we want to be treated to give a witness to others about Jehovah the true God and about his Kingdom and the promise of living forever. Jehovah’s Witnesses are the best behaved people in the world. Just because a person is related to a JW does not make them a witness and if a JW commits a grave sin and is unrepentant, their title as a JW is completely removed and can not participate in services until they show complete repentance. We are a clean organization and represent the God Almighty.
P.S. Does anyone know Ryan Jenkins religion, Jasmin Fiore, Bonnie and Clyde, Charles Manson, other serial killers religion? No, because it’s not uncommon for those in false religion to commit such horrendous acts and crimes. But when anyone affiliated or related to a JW commits a crime they have to make it known. It just shows that we are the most behaved group in the world. Remember, Jehovah Gods own sons left the heavens along with Satan the Devil and turned away from the true God. No one is to blame but themselves. Besides, a true JW glows, we are pleasant, kind, loving and we are the happiest people on the earth. Nancy Garrido either was in a false religion or did not have a religion. You can tell by just looking at her. Her face says it all. Source(s) P.S. Jeremiah 16:21 says “Therefore here I am causing them to know; at this one time I shall cause them to know my hand and my mightiness, and they will have to know that my name is Jehovah.” When Jehovah’s day ocmes, all will be forced to know Jehovah as the true God before he removes those who oppose him and his witnesses.
TO: The Truth, when a JW comes knocking on your door you should ask for a free bible study so you can learn the truth and really know who we are.
