the 24 hr rule is a myth. I worked in Missing Persons. You can report someone missing anytime. However many things are taken into account as to how they will be prioritized and handled. Children with no history of running away are priority along with elderly with medical issues, mentally ill, etc etc. Then you have suspicious circumstances or signs of foul play.. and so on. But your question really is, what liability do I have if I don’t report this person missing that I don’t like. Legally, none if you also don’t have any reason to believe they fit any of the catagories. Otherwise there are culpable states of ommission in some states. By the way, what did you do with the body?
I would call now that would show you are concerned. But they will probably tell you to call back in 24 hours like the first person on here said. but if you become a suspect then it would look good that you called and just didn’t sit back and meditate on what you was going to do next. The hardest thing for a person who is involved to do is call the cops. so don’t look guilty or they will find you guilty.
Everyone who knows a victim or potential victim is a suspect. There’s nothing you can do about that.
American law does not require you to be proactive in stopping or reporting crimes. So you are not committing a crime by not reporting.
If you know for a fact that the person is missing you should tell now as soon as you possibly can
you may not like the person but it is the moral thing to do…
You know the person is missing so your going 2 be the first suspect scents you realize the person is missing the first person 2 call is the first suspect
you sound incredibly guilty!!!! like someone else said what did you do with the body?
Do you know how suspicious that sounds?
if you don’t please re read your question.
wow dude….
24 hours would be best! Even if you don’t like the person….Geez!
