  1. Pierre Forgeron says:

You cannot be arrested for non payment of council tax unless you are in breach of a Court Order. First they will take your belongings apart from bedding and tools of trade. If this doesn’t cover the debt they will take you to Court. If you refuse to abide by the court ruling then you will arrested. It’s usually about 1 month inside.

An arrest warrant means you get arrested there and then the police don’t need one to arrest you, is it a court summons? being served with a writ or summons and having a bench warrant out for your arrest are two different things. Cops aren’t going to knock on your door then serve papers through the letterbox if that was the case they could have gotten the postie to deliver them, why should they waste their time? Go to legal aid and outline your case, get expert advice.

  3. Bardic says:

No you haven’t. An arrest warrant is authority for someone to arrest you, it’s pointless putting one through the door. You probably received a summons to court – read it carefully.

Are you one of those using council services without paying? Do you also not have road tax or car insurance? Hope they put you away for years.

  5. Well i Never! says:

  6. vicks says:

If it is presented by a duly sworn officer of the court such as the police, then yes !
