I have a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear and I am wondering if I can register my new, used car or if I will be arrested at the tag office. There is usually a police officer there as I remember and I don’t want to go through that. Thanks!

andreahomie, There are tons of places where you can get an online quote. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Ins… It only takes roughly 10 minutes to do.
The DMV has no clue that you have a warrant for your arrest. Get your insurance in place and take your registration & the proof of insurance to the DMV office and get the vehicle registered. Go take care of the warrant. If you get caught while you are driving your new used car you will be arrested and the car will be impounded.
If you don’t want to be arrested, don’t register your car. Don’t go shopping. Don’t go home. Stay in your cardboard box under the bridge.
Darn criminals, you think you should have the freedom to come and go just like us law-abiding citizens!
For gods sake go take care of the warrant. It’s a simple charge ,so get it cleared up. You won’t have to keep looking over your sh older all the time.
Maybe. Why don’t you just go take care of the warrant. It’s no big deal. Really.
