I have a friend that has a warrant out for his arrest for failing to pay a fine for a traffic violation. He’s out of work and can’t pay the fine and wants to travel with me (sane state) to find work. Before knowing about the warrant, I had promised to take him with me, but now that I’m aware of it I don’t want to risk incriminating myself. Can he leave the city with the warrant on him? Will I get into trouble with the law if I take him with me? Thanks.

You will not get in trouble for being with this individual. and in most cases if it is a traffic warrant as long as he isn’t driving the odds of them finding out are slim,
However if they do find out he will be arrested and it is up to the county in which the warrant was issued if they want them to hold him or release him with another court date
I would take him with me on the condition that on his first paycheck he pays the ticket on which the warrant was issued.
You wouldn’t get into trouble, but what he has to worry about is if he gets arrested in an unfamiliar area. He may be in their jail a heck of a lot longer than he would be in his own county jail because he would be waiting for transportation for extradition. If you aren’t doing anything illegal and his warrant is not for a felony, they will probably only arrest him when they come into contact with him.
He can travel wherever he wants. The issue would be when he got caught, he would be put in jail.
If he is looking for work, they probably will run a check on him and he may end up having the police called anyhow. I know if I did a check on someone and found a warrant, I would report it to the police.
he can travel, but if you are stopped for any reason, he will get arrested. I really don’t think YOU will get in trouble, but he will
