Assembly approves $20-million settlement with kidnapping victim Jaycee Dugard
The state Assembly Thursday approved a $20-million settlement for Jaycee Dugard, who was kidnapped and held captive for 18 years. State justice officials have recommended paying the settlement, which still must be approved by the state Senate.

Great story ending. But i blame both officers and neighbors
Just how hard was she really trying to get away? Maybe I’m missing something here, but this just don’t sound right! 18 years and she says nothing?! There were neighbors that reported to the police that they thought that someone was being held in the backyard against their will. Police dropped the ball on that by not investigating the reports. (Her parents should sue their pants off.) But couldn’t this Jaycee go to the neighbors and say look, these criminals kidnapped me! Now here she is a grown woman and two kids later . I think the kidnapper and his stupid wife should be put under the jail for life. Why would any self respecting woman stay with a dog who impregnated another woman who lives at YOUR house ?! Well the self respecting woman obviously ain’t her! There’s so much of this perverted sick stuff going on right here in this country!
